about

This one in many ways is a follow up to "Iscariot" ("I Am a Camera".) It goes into the story behind a little more in depth. If I was to ever stage "I Am a Camera" this song would probably come before Iscariot. Though when we play it live - it comes after.

lyrics

if you'd like to fight
we can take it outside
we can roll up our sleeves
'cause i've got nothing to hide

a razor blade tongue
is all i need
but we can go for fisticuffs
if you're aiming to bleed

keep your cronies at bay
this one is between you and me

and like in every musical
this duel begins with a song and a dance

it started with a kiss
and ended with a fist
and few minor incidents in between
you're a prisoner in your home
and you hate to be alone
so you keep reaching up your sleeve for tricks

do you consider this a threat?
i will follow through - you can bet on it

and i hope that you were
well behaved
in a former life

you're a great archaeologist
making brilliant discoveries
your heart was in the right place
but your brain was in your pants
you pretended to fight
when the going got rough
but fighting from behind curtain
just wasn't enough
and when you took off without leaving a note
stuck between a rock and hard place
and a lump in my throat
i swore to myself
NEVER AGAIN
would I put up with your theatrics, "my dear, old friend"

so,
if you'd like to fight
we can take it outside
we can roll up our sleeves
'cause i've got nothing to hide
a razor blade tongue
is all i need
but we can go for fisticuffs
if you're aiming to bleed

keep your cronies at bay
this one is between you and me
